I was completely new to guitar when I first started lessons with Jackson. I found the instrument to be intimidating, hard to understand, and was frustrated when I struggled to make a sound at the very beginning. After working with Jackson, I can now play lots of songs and even perform in front of audiences! He is knowledgeable, patient, encouraging, and meets you where you are at while also challenging you to get out of your comfort zone. It was really helpful and motivating for me to learn guitar through song, he works with you to pick songs that you enjoy and fit your skill level. He has also taught me some foundational music theory which has substantially helped me understand patterns in music, write my own songs, and play music with other people. Music is clearly one of his passions and he makes the learning experience fun and rewarding!
